Regardless of your age, you might wonder how you got where you are today. Good or bad, we all have to deal with our life situation. Maybe you didn’t get to go to college, were not chosen for that promotion, or had an unexpected pregnancy, an abusive parent, or a number of other things resulting in a less fortunate lifestyle or life situation, as I like to put it. Surely, you have had your share of bad luck or no luck at all. Perhaps you sit and wonder how things could have or should have been had the circumstances been just a little different, better, or even fair.
So who can you blame? It seems to me that a lot of folks live in a world of blame. Surely it’s not your fault, is it? I realize that some people get lucky and some people don’t, but aside from luck, I maintain that we all have a hand in how our lives unfold. Instead of blaming yourself or someone else, realize that there are circumstances that may not have been available when you were ready. The biggest problem is that some people have had either the guidance or intuition to make better choices, yet others had no apparent choice. In Stop the Rain Dance, I offer you those choices to create a life more fulfilling than what you may be experiencing today. The real question is, are you ready today? What better investment can you make than in yourself?
I challenge you to take responsibility for everything in your life, but don’t beat yourself up over it. You can only do the best you can with what you’ve got. So live in the moment and create a better life for yourself now. The future will take care of itself by default.
